My newly published FES analysis “Zeitenwende. Time for a Reassessment of Romania’s Foreign Policy?” tackles key assumptions, ideas, and predispositions guiding Romania’s foreign policy thinking. And, in so doing, tries to address several other important questions: What are today’s geopolitical, strategic, economic, and diplomatic challenges Romania faces in the world? How does Romania’s “climate of ideas” shape its response to the international environment? How do current global and regional evolutions interfere with Romania’s main geostrategic commitments, affecting its standing and security? And how can Romania’s foreign policy performance and efficacy be enhanced while paying heed to these commitments?
Bucharest Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is organizing a debate on the topic of the paper:
Zeitenwende.
